Knights Academy | U8 AAU Full-Ice Hockey Program

The Knights Academy is a supplemental U8 AAU full-ice hockey program designed for dedicated 2018 and 2019 birth-year players looking for additional development and competition opportunities.

The Academy is intended for players with previous full-ice experience who are seeking additional development and competition opportunities in a competitive, full-ice environment.

This is a non-USA Hockey sanctioned program. All tournaments, scrimmages, and events we participate in will be non-USA Hockey sanctioned events. The Academy is intended to complement a player’s local association season, not replace it.

At this time, we anticipate fielding one to two Academy teams. Our goal is to group players with others of similar skill and experience levels to provide the best possible development and competition environment.

The season is expected to begin in late September and run through February.

Program Structure

Participants can expect 1–2 Knights Academy events per month throughout the season. These events may include practices, development sessions, and intra-squad full-ice scrimmages held in Rhinelander, Merrill, and/or Antigo.

The Academy will include a minimum of two tournaments:

• October Tournament
• November Tournament

Additional tournament opportunities may be offered in January and/or February depending on player interest, team participation, and conflicts with association hockey schedules.

Tournament participation will primarily consist of Ultimate Hockey and Big Bear events throughout Wisconsin, with the potential for one event in the Chicago area.

Knights Academy ID Skate

The Knights Academy ID Skate will be held on Thursday, August 27, at the Rhinelander Ice Arena from 5:00–6:15 PM.

Registration is limited to 30 skaters and 4 goalies to ensure a quality evaluation experience for all participants.

• Goalie Cost: Free
• Registration Capacity: 30 Skaters / 4 Goalies

All participants should plan to arrive by 4:30 PM to complete check-in prior to taking the ice.

The ID Skate will help our coaching staff evaluate players, place them in the appropriate Academy group, and determine the level of competition that best fits each team. It will also allow us to identify whether we will field one or two Academy teams for the season.

Program Cost

Final program cost will be determined once tournament participation, ice schedules, and team structure are finalized. Pricing will vary based on the total number of tournaments and Academy events offered throughout the season.
